Dali Apartments (Skopje) Review: Is This the Most Unique Accommodation in North Macedonia?

If you’ve been following my blog, you might notice that I have a thing for quirky and unique accommodations — I even have a whole category dedicated to quirky hotels, apartments, and hostels around the world!

On my last trip to Northern Macedonia, I expected the typical Balkan-style guesthouses, average hotels, some party hostels, and maybe a few luxury 5-star hotels to round it out. Nothing out of the ordinary, right?

Oh, how wrong I was!

Whether it was by coincidence or serendipity, I stumbled upon one of the quirkiest, eccentric, and most unique accommodations in Skopje: Dali Apartments.

Although we stayed here for only one day, it felt as if we — quite literally — spent a night at the museum.

From the hand-painted ceiling to the *ahem* unique decor (a real sword), kooky color schemes, and small details, it really felt as if I was teleported inside a Dali painting.

If you’re curious to learn more about my review of the Dali Apartments (and maybe book your own stay!), then keep reading. I promise it’ll be worth it. :)

Best Places to Stay in Montenegro: 40+ Incredible Apartments, Airbnbs & Hotels to Upgrade Your Trip

Amazing accommodations, guest houses, and Airbnbs in Montenegro

One of the best ways to travel in Montenegro is to live locally — either by trying local foods, taking bus journeys alongside Montenegrins, or choosing a local accommodation over a hotel. While food and transportation are better explained in my Ultimate Guide to Montenegro (click to check it out), I can help with finding local accommodations.

I want to preface this by saying that Montenegro is filled with stunning/gorgeous/breathtaking/(insert adjective here) views, and it would be a total disservice to the country if I were to put some boring accommodations on here, wouldn’t you agree? ;)

Which is why I chose only the most unique accommodations and Airbnbs in Montenegro! From sunny beachside villas to mountain cabins, luxe penthouses to idyllic local stone houses, and everything in between, I’m sure you’ll find at least a few places to add to your wishlist.

Likewise, when researching this blog post, I left no city behind! From amazing Airbnbs in Kotor to apartments with bay views in Budva, to smaller and less-touristy cities like Ulcinj and Herceg Novi, and even going up north to the mountains, I present… the best guest houses, apartments, and Airbnbs in Montenegro!

The Amazing Macaron-themed Hotel Room: A Review Of Vice Versa, the Most Unique Boutique Hotel in Paris, France

I’m just going to say it outright: Vice Versa may just be one of the best hotels in Paris, France.

It’s one of the most unique places to stay in Paris, and for good reason. The entire hotel — all 37 rooms! — are decorated in a very unique theme.

I had the chance to stay at Vice Versa during my trip to Paris and specifically booked this gorgeous macaron-themed room because it had the most unique design. Hello, a giant macaron-shaped bed? I’ll take three, wrapped up in a box with a bowtie. ;)

Besides my room, this French boutique hotel has an amazing design, friendly service, and stays very on-theme — unlike some hotels, which only have a few themed rooms, this one is themed from the basement to the attic!

Ready to check it out? Grab your beret and let’s go!

Warning: this post contains a lot of cliche French words (see what I did there?) and candy puns. I warned you, mon amie
